Week of February 23, 2009

This week we launch the next generation of Slow Home. We have not only revamped the look and feel but we have also refocused our goals to provide more design education content.

…what!no more beutiful houses to delight us with!
I live in a loft on top of my store and love it.
The store cum loft is a re-cyled old factory.
I have the deposit on the ground floor, the office and show-rooms on the first floor and the loft on the very top.
In my country,Argentina, we have learned how to make the most of the little we have and it’s a very good kind of life.
    Congrats great magazine!

    Hi Pat,
Your home sounds great and very slow. Living where you work in an old reused building is very light on the environment. A loft space is inherently open and making the most of what you have is very simple. Well done.

And, don’t worry, we will still be posting those great architectural homes every Friday.

    Hi John,

I hope things are going well. As you know, i am now teaching at SAIT and I share many of the slow home videos with my students. I especially enjoyed the two videos on the entrance and on the kitchen living addition. The second was very timely as it was very similar to a project we were working on at the time. I look forward to checking out the new design exercises and sharing them with my students.

    Thanks John.

    Sincerely, Paul

    Paul,
Good to hear from you. I am glad that you and your students are finding the design exercises useful. I look forward to seeing comments and ideas about the upcoming projects from all of you.
