    So John, you’re using a 5-point scale. Makes sense to me.

    Having an odd-numbered scale allows for a neutral rating (in this case “3″), which I think is necessary for some elements. If I’m using this checklist to help me evaluate a home, I’d try to avoid the neutral rating, but forcing a Fast or Slow (with an even-numbered scale) doesn’t sit right with me, and I’d be trying to compensate for that in other evaluations, which I wouldn’t want to do.

    Keeping in mind that I’m using this checklist to help me evaluate a home, unlike a comment sheet simply left on the table at a fast-food restaurant.
