Your interview today on CBC inspired me and resonates with a long-time interest. While my academic background is in education I have been a land development manager for a home builder in BC and have worked in New Home Sales. As you talked about I have seen homes built on lots without regard to view, sun or environmental factors. I designed and modified many home plans for customers to assist them in meeting these needs.
I am convinced that smaller homes can be built that are more cost effective leaving more in the budget for environmental considerations. Small homes with good design can be just as homey and beautiful and often more functional.
Do you agree and is this an interest of yours as well? Given our current environmental concerns for our planet and our economic situation do you believe there is a market for smaller well designed homes?
