Live Format Debut

Today is Monday, September 13, 2010 and we are happy to have debuted our first LIVE session! We want to thank everyone who joined in today and we are happy to report that the technology is working well even though we have have a few bugs to sort out for our next LIVE session tomorrow at 5pm Pacific/6pm Mountain/ 8pm Eastern.

Today’s session was really just a quick test and we will extend the time on our future sessions to be more interactive. We experienced some audio problems and Matthew did not realize that he had to scroll down to see the chat questions on his laptop so a lot of the comments were missed until after the broadcast! We are going to post the feed for everyone to see! Sorry about that!

We want to hear what you think of this format! Leave a comment on the blog so we can incorporate your suggestions into our next sessions.

Tomorrow, we will be posting the “before” plans and photos of the Housebrand Case Study Project: Townhouse Remodel. We will be working through this project in detail in our session tomorrow evening at 6pm MDT/ 8pm Eastern Time. That will give you the day to work through it individually and post your ideas and floor plans plans to the site prior to the LIVE workshop.

See you all tomorrow!

    Hello, John and Matthew,
I just watched the player version of your online session this morning. It seems there’s a bit of a technical glitch (at least for me who uses DSL and not cable). There’s a multiple echo of your voices when we see the two of you at the desk; it makes it sound as if you’re speaking from the bottom of a large swimming pool. :) However, when the video image changes to the archive photo of the project in question, the echo disappears and the voiceover is clear. Just thought I should let you know in case others have this same problem with the audio.

    Hi Terri,

    Thanks for the comments.
Actually the problem with the audio is a bit embarrassing. The microphone on our camera was on in addition to our regular desktop mike. Both feeds went out at “almost” the same time…. Lots of red faces around here this morning but we will be all set to go tomorrow.
